POSITION TITLE:                    CFO – China


REPORT TO:                            CEO – China                           


LOCATION:                             Beijing




The client is among the world’s leading international insurance and financial service company,

providing a diverse range of life insurance, and wealth management products and services to

individuals and corporate customers.  It has operations in key markets worldwide.




·           Maintain extensive knowledge of China and US GAAP accounting and taxation practices; provide statutory financial reporting including annual accounts and reports (China and US  GAAP), CIRC, management information framework for the business as well as tax and external  audit related reporting;


·           Provide effective financial processes to all department heads and their teams through efficient development and implementation of sound policies and procedures;


·           Provide support and advice to the CEO on financially significant strategic business issues and fulfill all responsibilities that the CEO delegates to the CFO.




·           Statutory reporting and CIRC compliance;

·           Statutory financial reporting including annual accounts and reports (China and US GAAP), CIRC, tax and internal and external audit related reporting;

·           Establishment and maintenance of financial and internal controls;

·           Establishment and monitoring of consistent financial control policies and procedures for all business functions;

·           Strategy and financial management;

·           Provide on-going strategic support to the CEO, head office business areas and branch managers, especially in areas of strategic, financial and operational issues;

·           Lead and develop head office and branch functional departments (which are under the CFO’s responsibility) to an international standard;

·           Risk management and business solvency management;

·           Report key risk issues to risk committees;

·           Treasury and cash management;

·           Investment operations:

·           Monitor and control the capital and investments of the shareholders and policyholders ensuring investment strategy is implemented within limits and authorities set by investment committee;

·           Support operations for investment back office settlements, accounting, valuations and reporting;

·           Pricing and valuation of shareholder and policyholder funds including unit linked; implement international standard systems, controls and procedures;

·           Business and operational efficiency;

·           Tax planning and compliance;

·           Key contact for tax officials, regulators, internal and external auditors.
