澳大利亚迪肯大学（Deakin University）将于2001年11月23日（星期五）晚6：30—8：30在长城饭店第一宴会厅举办国际专业会计硕士学位课程说明会。
    该课程是中国注册会计师协会、首都经济贸易大学、澳大利亚注册会计师协会及迪肯大学的合作项目，是中国首个让学员同时获得国际会计硕士学位和专业会计资格的课程。
    专业会计硕士MPA/CPA课程开设十六门课程，为期两年零八个月。所有学员在完成课程的每一阶段都会获得正式的认可，即会计专业证书（Graduate Certificate of Accounting）（颁给修读首四门课程的学员），会计专业文凭（Graduate Diploma of Accounting），ASCPA准会员（Associate Membership），至最终颁授专业会计硕士学位及ASCPA的CPA资格。CICPA的正式会员，如果是本科毕业生，可免修第一阶段四门课程，因而可在两年以兼读形式完成课程。

Deakin University Australia kindly invites you to an information evening on Friday 23rd November, for the International Master of Professional Accounting now being held in Beijing. This course, which is a collaboration of the CICPA, the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB), CPA Australia and Deakin University, is the first program of its kind in China that allows participants to gain both a masters degree as well as a professional accounting qualification.

The Society has branch offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia as well as New Zealand, London, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

MASTER OF PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING (MPA)

The Master of Professional Accounting/CPA program is a 16-unit program of part-time study, taught by Australian Academics at the Capital University of Business and Economics. Graduates who are members of the CICPA are eligible to receive advanced standing in the form of exemptions from the first four units.

MPA INFORMATION EVENING

The MPA information evening conducted on 23rd November will outline the MPA course for CICPA members interested in joining the program from 6 January 2002, and others interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in Accounting leading to academic and professional qualifications.

Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants为澳大利亚会计师公会的英文全称，一般简称为CPA Australia（以下简称CPA Australia）
CPA Australia是澳大利亚人数最多的会计职业团体（也号称是南半球最大的会计专业协会和全球第五大会计师公会），在澳大利亚国内外有94000多会员，其中有大约18000人在亚洲地区。与中国注册会计师协会会员情况不同的是，CPA Australia的大部分会员并不在会计师事务所工作，30%的成员是在政府机构从业，事务所工作人员只有20% 。
CPA Australia是由会计师自愿组成的行业自律性组织，是经政府公司登记部门登记的公司法人，创立自1953年，迄今已有近50年的历史。CPA Australia总部在墨尔本市。下设8个分会，其中在澳大利亚6个州，每个州一个分会，另有首都堪培拉分会和海外分会。海外分会设在新加坡，主要负责管理分布在香港、新加坡、马来西亚等国家和地区的会员，海外分会约有18000多名会员。分会是澳大利亚公会的分支机构，直接归公会领导，与地方政府没有直接的领导与被领导的关系。分会领导由公会委派，经费由公会统一拨付，会员会费由分会代收后交公会管理。公会系统共有工作人员280多人，其中，公会总部有160多人，8个分会有120多人。在我们访问的香港分会有11名工作人员，很有意思的是全部为女性。
澳大利亚对注册会计师行业实行依法管理，注册会计师的地位是由法律规定的，没有专门的政府部门主管注册会计师行业。政府对注册会计师行业的管理主要是特种执业资格的管理，如从事公司审计和公司清算业务必须得到澳大利亚证券与投资委员会的批准。从事税务代理业务要得到澳大利亚税务局的批准，并且要遵守政府部门制定的有关这些方面的规章制度，接受其业务监督。目前经批准从事公司审计业务的注册会计师有7300多人。另外，澳大利亚证券交易所对上市公司的财务审计报告也有监管的权力。
